San Francisco Bay Area Injury Claims Attorney Steve Weber

Attorney Steve Weber was raised in the New York metropolitan area, receiving his bachelor’s from Rutgers University before moving to the West Coast. He attended law school at the University of San Francisco on a partial academic scholarship, published and edited for the University of San Francisco Law Review, represented his school in the National Moot Court Competition, was active in student politics and was elected to the McAuliffe Honor Society.

During law school, he worked as a law clerk for several prominent San Francisco firms, which exposed him to the legal system and allowed him to observe firsthand that those who did not understand the system needed representation the most. Those experiences led him to his eventual area of practice, representing the interests of the wrongfully injured.

His legal career started as a “baptism by fire.” His first employer/mentor had suffered a health problem that required Mr. Weber to immediately handle all of the firm’s active cases. Within weeks of being admitted to the California Bar, he presented an oral argument before the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in a murder case. Within a month, he tried his first case in the Federal District Court for the Northern District of California. Three months after that, he tried his first jury case in the San Francisco Superior Court.

Since then, he has tried numerous cases throughout northern California and the Western states. Those cases have all involved representing parties injured by motor vehicle accidents, products liability, industrial accidents and more. He also has considerable experience in securities and medical malpractice litigation.

Outside of the legal profession, he worked at mostly blue-collar/no-collar jobs to pay college and law school tuition. In addition, he served as a military officer both on active duty and in the reserves for more than eight years: Captain, U.S. Army (Infantry).

Mr. Weber is admitted to practice before all federal and state courts in California as well as the U.S. Supreme Court. He belongs to many legal associations, including the American Board of Trial Advocates and the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association.

Since having been appointed in 1992, he has served as a judicial arbitrator for the superior courts of San Francisco and Marin counties, as a commercial arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association and as a Kaiser medical malpractice party arbitrator.
